The meadow and the goal

Lantern Lattice is a quiet logic puzzle set in a moonlit meadow. Orla, the lantern keeper, leaves relationship clues that connect six animal lanterns into a safe night route. Each path has a definite order. Read the clues, build that order with the lantern buttons, and check the finished chain. This is a thoughtful puzzle rather than a speed test: there is no countdown, life meter, opponent, or penalty that forces a quick guess. Pause to compare a clue with your choices, clear the chain, and try again. The challenge comes from interpreting relationships and noticing how each new rule changes the route.

A complete path, step by step

Start Game begins the campaign at Stage 1. After clearing a path, choose Stages on the Result screen to play any unlocked route freely.

Clue cards are shuffled. Each links one lantern before another; Wind-turn paths run against those links. Tap a clue to spotlight its pair. Connected clues glow.
Tap lanterns to fill every numbered slot. The named echo can appear twice; leave the moth decoy out.
Tap a filled slot to remove that lantern and everything after it. An incomplete check shows what is missing and adds no check.
Only complete chains count. A clear earns 3 stars on the first full check, 2 on the second, and 1 after that. Next Stage keeps your current mode.
A clear lights the next path and records your progress in this browser. Use Next Stage to enter the next Battle directly, Stages to choose a route, or Replay to try the settled route again.
Use shared Settings to change the language or sound. The return arrow leads back to the previous screen; the puzzle remains playable with sound off.

How the clue rules change

Each shuffled card states that one lantern comes before another. Connect all links into a full route. Wind-turn paths reverse that direction, echo paths repeat the named lantern, and moth paths exclude the named decoy. Tap a filled chain slot to rewind from there; incomplete checks do not count, while complete wrong checks do. Tap a clue to spotlight its pair. Connected clues glow.

Campaign and checkpoints

The journey contains 30 authored paths in six connected arcs, with checkpoints at paths 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30. Paths 1–5 introduce the animal lights and direct relationships. Paths 6–10 add moth decoys; 11–15 introduce echoes; 16–20 focus on wind-turn reversal; 21–25 combine echoes with decoys; and 26–30 bring the rules together for mastery. Completing a path unlocks the next one and records its clear. The Stages map keeps unlocked routes available, so replaying a short path never erases later progress. Checkpoint badges mark each arc’s end, while the core action—read, connect, check—stays familiar.

Useful ways to solve a path

Read the relationship cards as a small path map, then find where the chain can begin and end. For an echo, treat the repeated lantern as two separate visits. Reverse the finished route only on Wind-turn stages. If a prefix is right, tap the first wrong chain slot to keep that prefix while rebuilding the rest.

Why the puzzle is shaped this way

The board keeps its clues beside the lantern choices so observation and deduction remain in one place. Six distinct animal lights and a numbered chain make the current route easy to inspect. Feedback names the first incorrect link instead of hiding the puzzle behind a generic failure message. Each arc introduces a recognizable rule, then later paths combine familiar rules; this gives the campaign a gradual shape without changing its basic controls. The moonlit meadow is a fictional puzzle setting, not a claim about real animal behavior. The pace is deliberately calm, and optional sound can be muted without losing information needed to solve a path.

Player and Save Information

Use touch, mouse, or keyboard focus with Enter or Space to operate buttons. Shared Settings provides language and sound controls on Main and play screens. Cleared paths, unlocked progress, and best check counts are stored in this browser when local storage is available. The record belongs to this browser on this device; it does not sync to an account or move automatically to another device. Clearing site data, private browsing, or blocked storage can remove or limit that local record. If storage is unavailable, you can still play, but the browser may not retain progress after the page closes.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a timer or lives limit?: No. Take your time, reread clues, and reset a chain whenever you want.
Why can’t I choose a lantern twice?: A lantern repeats only on paths with an echo rule, and only the named light may repeat.
How does the moth decoy work?: Keep the decoy dark and out of your chain. A check explains when it was selected.
Is progress saved?: Yes. Cleared and unlocked paths stay only in this browser when storage is available; they do not sync.
