Lights Out

Lights Out is a classic 5x5 switch puzzle: press a tile and its orthogonal neighbors to turn every light off.

World and Mission

The board is a compact logic field: every press changes a cross-shaped group, so a move that helps one edge can create a new obligation nearby.

A fixed puzzle loop keeps the goal readable. Solve the board, inspect the move count, then Replay or choose New Puzzle to practice a different route.

How the Systems Work

Lights Out uses a 5x5 board. A tile press toggles the selected tile plus its up, down, left, and right neighbors when those cells exist.

The puzzle is solved when every light is off. Hint marks one legal candidate without playing it; Undo restores the prior board and move count.

Start Game opens Battle directly. Result reports the solved board and offers Replay, Menu, and Close; progress and preferences remain local to this browser.

How to Play

  1. Choose Start Game to open the 5x5 board.
  2. Press a tile and read the cross-shaped change to the selected cell and its orthogonal neighbors.
  3. Use Hint when you want one candidate, then decide the move yourself; use Undo to compare a different route.
  4. Turn every light off, review the Result move count, and choose Replay or New Puzzle for another attempt.

Strategy Tips

  • Work from the board edge inward; an edge press affects fewer cells than a center press.
  • After each press, reread the whole cross instead of assuming the last move only changed one tile.
  • Use Hint as a route suggestion and Undo as a comparison tool, not as an automatic solver.

Campaign and Difficulty Growth

Each round uses the same readable 5x5 rule set, while Replay and New Puzzle provide repeatable practice with a fresh board.

Improvement is measured by solving cleanly and reducing moves; there is no timer, account level, or purchase gate.

Developer Design Note

Lights Out uses the shared Classic Logic Lab shell, a responsive 5x5 board, direct Main-to-Battle flow, advisory Hint, reversible Undo, solved Result feedback, and browser-local settings.
