Reversi
Reversi is an eight-by-eight strategy board game: place a disc to surround opponent discs, flip the chain, and finish with more discs than the AI.
World and Mission
A match begins with four discs in the center and opens into a contest for space. Every legal move must bracket one or more opponent discs between your new disc and an existing disc.
The board can change quickly: a move that flips many discs now may give away a corner or reduce your next options. The final count decides the winner.
How the Systems Work
Choose a legal empty square that brackets an opponent line in one of eight directions. Every bracketed disc flips to your color.
The AI responds at Easy, Medium, or Hard. Hint marks a legal candidate, while the live payoff explains corners, edges, and mobility after a move.
When neither side has a legal move, Result compares player and opponent discs. Replay starts the same opening position with the selected difficulty.
How to Play
- Choose Easy, Medium, or Hard and start the board.
- Read the highlighted legal squares and choose one that flips a useful line.
- Wait for the AI reply, then read the corner, edge, or mobility feedback.
- Use Hint when you want one legal candidate without giving up the decision.
- Continue until no legal move remains, review the score, and Replay for a new plan.
Strategy Tips
- Corners cannot be flipped, so consider a corner before chasing a larger capture.
- Watch the square next to an open corner; giving it away can hand the corner to the AI.
- Compare your legal-move count before and after a move to keep mobility when possible.
- A smaller early flip can be stronger if it protects an edge or preserves future choices.
Campaign and Difficulty Growth
Easy selects the fewest immediate captures, Medium takes the most available now, and Hard values corners and safe edges. Replays turn the same rules into a deeper planning challenge.
