Old Maid

A four-seat hidden-card pairing game: clear matching ranks, draw from the next hand, and avoid holding the unpaired Old Maid at the end.

Set up

The 52-card deck is dealt around four seats: you, Fox, Panda, and Otter. One card is marked as the Old Maid; the remaining cards form matching-rank pairs.

Take a turn

Matching ranks disappear automatically from your hand. On your turn, draw one face-down card from the next active hand; only hidden card positions are selectable, so the other player's card identity stays private.

Read the table

Opponent rows show hand sizes and cleared-pair counts. Watch which ranks disappear, then choose a draw position without seeing its identity; every draw can change both your next pair and the risk in your hand.

Player and Save Information

The round ends when only one active hand remains. The Result screen names the final holder and your win or loss; win/loss totals and sound preference stay in this browser, while the active deal does not resume after a reset.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many players are in a round?
Four seats play: you and three AI opponents named Fox, Panda, and Otter.
What happens to matching ranks?
A matching-rank pair disappears automatically as soon as it is formed in a hand.
Can I inspect or choose a card in my own hand?
No. Your hand is face-up and read-only; you choose only a face-down position in the next active opponent hand.
How do I win?
Keep clearing pairs and avoid being the only active hand left with the Old Maid risk. The Result screen reports the final holder.
Is progress saved?
Win/loss totals and sound preference can stay in this browser. The current deal is a single round and does not require an account.
